Smart City Jaen attended to the CDTI Technological Mission in Japan

On Thursday 22 and Friday 23 it took place the CDTI Technological Mission in Japan under the 5th CDTI-NEDO Joint Workshop JSIP programme on the automotive sector. The event was organized by the CDTI with Angeles Valbuena, Satoko Kinoshita, and Akihisa Dambara, the last, director of the CDTI in the Japanese office, in addition to the Japanese equivalent to the CDTI, the NEDO, along with other Japanese automotive companies, also collaborated Cecilia Medina from SERNAUTO, more details about JSIP can be found here.

The Spanish delegation was led by companies and organizations which participate in Innovation in the automotive industry as Ficosa, Gestamp, Antolín Group, Idiada, Carbures, Tecnalia, Teknia, CT Engineers, Arquimea, Vicomtech and GMV. Japanese companies had representatives of Mitsubishi Plastics and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi, Renesas, Fujitsu, Toyota, among others.


The Mission, which was part of the Bilateral Technical Cooperation Programme Hispano-Japanese (Jisp, Japan Spain Innovation Program), was divided into two parts, one focused on the theme of “Smart Devices” and the other “Smart Materials” applied both to the automotive sector. The Spanish delegation also visited the University of Tokyo where they were taught several projects mainly related to computer vision and computer graphics applied to the automotive sector.


The meeting was attended by Dr. Francisco R. Feito and Dr. Manuel Herrador from the GGGJ research group at the University of Jaen as the guest delegation Smart City Jaen with the theme of Smart Devices, once there, it were established contacts with national companies and Japanese companies for possible collaborative projects or participation in the patented charging device based on QR codes isolateed from telecommunications. For this purpose a specific website with all the information and videos (accessible here, in English) was created.


Through actions like this, the project continues on track in a matter of sustainable mobility for the progress of our city.
